Ok, so the district nurse came yesterday to clean my wound and change the dressing, and it hurt me so much that she couldn't do it. I sobbed, she was lovely. I was told to rinse it out today, and go to the clinic, with a plain dressing on it. Which means that I saw what it looks like.
I had rather thought that lancing a boil meant putting a couple of slices in it so stuff could seep out. It seems that rather than being sliced, I have had a hole cut out of my ass. It is about 3 cm wide, 1 cm tall and a couple of cms deep. And sore. But according to the lovely nurse, it isn't that bad. I just have to keep dressings on it for 2-3 weeks.
Blech.
